“We spend January 1st walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives…not looking for flaws, but for potential.” ― Ellen Goodman
We are now mid January and many of us are knee deep in our lists of new beginnings and intentions we've set for our year. This is awesome! I love the energy of new beginnings and the power of setting clear and heartfelt intentions We all want to move forward in a space that we feel content, at peace, and full of joy as we see ourselves manifesting our goals.
January comes with a surge of resiliency and resolve to get things done! It's exciting to say the least. However, what happens as the year goes on?
What happens?
There could be a lot of factors going on here, however one of the number one reasons I have heard from my clients, who are really my sisters, is that they are really unclear about what really matters to them.
Say what?
Yes, you heard me correctly and I have been there!
I have been unclear about what I want so each year I make a list of things that I want to accomplish in my life because I believed it was expected of me or it's what "I should" be doing.
But what did I really want? I knew what I didn't want, however what I wanted was not very clear.
In order to get clear, we must know what it is that we truly value. This is when we can become clear about the vision for our day, our month, our year, and our lives.
How I keep myself aligned with what I really want is by asking myself these four essential questions.
1. What motivates and inspires me to action?
2. What takes priority in my consciousness?
3. What is the physical and emotional manifestation of my priorities?
4. What is it that I need in life?
