Acceptance: From a spiritual perspective, acceptance is bringing our thoughts and emotions into agreement that an experience happened, without trying to alter, fix, or change it.
This was me.
Especially from a negative experience.
My go to’s were
🤷🏽♀️ “Why me?”
🤦🏾♀️ “This is happening to me again?”
👩🏾💻 “If I would have said or did this then...”
The fact of the matter is...I didn’t know if the outcome would have been different if I had said or done something differently.
Replaying the story of “Why” and “Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda” kept me stuck in self-pity and being the victim.
When we are unable to accept a thing, our minds are trying to change or alter it in some way. The soul of us know “good and time well” as my Grandma used to say, that can’t happen. We can’t change the past nor can we change the future. The power to move forward lies within the present moment. That power is called acceptance.
Baby Girl, understand that acceptance doesn’t mean the elimination of responsibility or accountability. It does not mean that you agree with anything or anybody. What it means is that you choose not to stay stuck in stagnant energy and you decide to “do the work” to create another, better experience.
At all times;
In all situations;
Under all circumstances;
Life is happening THROUGH us, not to us.
