Do. what. frees. you!
Those are my four words of advice for the new year and really for everyday.
If you've been with me long enough or if you're new here, each season I disengage from social media a little more. I become more intentional about who I interact with and what energy I allow to come into my space, even though the mobile screen.
In recent days (which is familiar and expected when there's the turn of a new year approaching), I have seen posts that give challenges to hurry up and complete tasks in order to "finish the year strong." I have seen posts that share all of these things that they are going to do in the new year, or what they are leaving behind in the current year. I have also seen some posts that attempt to shame others who are sharing their resolutions, whatever they may be. In one way or another I have shared all of these sentiments, and none of these sentiments.
“Always trust your instincts, they are messages from your soul, they are that inner part of you that strives to make you whole.”
...and none of them are "wrong."
However, if we're not careful, we can get caught in the whirlwind of "social posts" and lose sight of what truly feels good for and frees us to be exactly who we choose to be in the moment. We do not have to be pressured to be, do, or have anything or to go anywhere.
We have the right to choose who we want to be and what we want to do without fear, shame, or guilt.
My offering for us will always be...to first, JUST BE...then to do whatever frees you to experience those good and happy feelings.
