Spring Equinox | Beloved, It's Time to Rebirth

"Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems." ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

I have emerged from deep within myself.

I am a Sacred Woman and I welcome in

the revival of my soul. It is Springtime!

Schan Ellis Robinson 3.20.21

I love poetry, writing, and giving voice to my soul through words. Being out in nature deepens my experience and Spring is one of my favorite times just be and do this. I also embrace indigenous cultures, accepting this season as my personal New Year.

What is Spring Equinox?

Equinox is when day and night begin to merge and the days are just as long as the nights. There is no separation in it's length, just like there is no separation between you and Divine Source. Equinoxes happen both in Spring and Autumn. Particularly, since we are upon the Spring, let's begin there. In March, the Equinox signifies the start of the astrological new year and the start of a new season. The Sun is shifting into the constellation of Aries, which is regarded as the first of the 12 constellations used in astrology.

What does this mean spiritually?

In the Northern Hemisphere of the world, the March Equinox represents the beginning of Spring and a time where the spiritual energies of new birth and creativity are peaking and at their highest. If you're like me, I have been feeling more energized and lighter for the past few weeks. My soul was awakening from the hibernation in winter to the liberation of Spring! On the other side of the world, in the Southern Hemisphere, the March Equinox begins Autumn or Fall, which is a time to bring to the surface, release, and let go of the old in order to prepare for the winter.

Whether you are in the Northern or Southern hemisphere, the Equinox is a spiritual time that you can use to tap into the wisdom and energy of the Sacred Mother Earth and the Divine Universe. In the physical realm as the light and dark hours merge together and become one during the Equinoxes it symbolizes the duality of life. We are both masculine and feminine. We have the divine opportunity to balance our yin and yang. In the spiritual realm, however, there is no duality. Everything is all interconnected. There is no separation. Light and Dark are both necessary and one is not superior to the other. They are both necessary and can be a reminder of the sweetness and bitterness of life, hence the term, "bittersweet." When the Equinox happens, we are reminded of this spiritual truth. We are unique, creative expressions of God and so is everyone and everything.

How can I use the Equinox energy to support my healing and growth?

Equinox is the perfect time to honor all areas and aspects of your life including the circumstances that surround you. It is the divine opportunity to become AWARE, ACKNOWLEDGE and bring full ACCEPTANCE in your life without judgment. This is the time to know that all is as it should be. This is the time to release all past hurts, disappointments, any limiting beliefs, and behavior that no longer serve your highest good. It is the time to now re-frame your mindset, plant new thoughts, plant new beliefs and plant new intentions.

It is also a time to appreciate the inner work you've done and to celebrate how much you have grown over the course of the year. Farmers are now taking this opportunity to prepare the soil and start planting seeds for harvest in the next few months. With the energy of Aries as the fertile soil, now is a perfect time to start thinking about what you want to manifest in the next three months and begin planting those seeds of intention. Make a list of those intentions in your journal along with how you will feel when those intentions are manifested. Knowing how you desire to feel will support you in beginning to experience those feelings now through affirmations. Without judgment, honor the growth and the challenges, the light and the darkness, and all the experiences that have created you who you are in this present moment. Show yourself some self-compassion, self-forgiveness, and self-appreciation. Remember that all things work together for your good. Find the balance.

Here's a Spring Equinox Ritual that I do with my Tribe, in the Art of BEING WOMAN.

It's super simple...

  • Set the mood in your space. (I like low lighting, candles, and incense.)

  • Turn on your favorite high vibing instrumental music. (I like African or shamanic drumming.)

  • Wear your most favorite comfortable clothes or get naked!

  • Take a deep breath, close your eye, and allow your inner rhythm to connect with the rhythm of the music.

  • Allow your body to move as it wishes

  • With each movement, gently release any inhibitions and fears, shifting your mind into thoughts of celebrating who you are.

  • With your eyes still closed, embody your divinity without shame or guilt. Get into it!

  • When you feel your soul is complete, take a deep, cleansing breath and gently open your eyes.

  • Sit in your space, in the energy you created, and journal the thoughts, feelings, and ideas that came up for you.

  • You may stay in this space for as long as you wish!

Happy celebrating and honoring who you are, Beloved.

You are worthy!
